Pony Trekking

At Ladybooth Equestrian Centre we offer Pony Trekking / Escorted Rides which are suitable for the complete beginner to the more experienced rider.  All the treks are escorted and are only suitable for people aged 12 or over, and range from 1 Hour to a Full Day. For children under the age of 12 we offer the Farm Ride - a chance to experience the thrill of riding out - whilst still remaining on our farm land.

Trekking Picture
Following centuries old Pack routes and bridleways we can offer escorted rides over genuinely un-spoilt countryside and moorland.  Commanding fine views of both Edale and the Hope Valley we may trek over Jaggers Clough to Win Hill, or via Back Tor and up towards Mam Tor, or down through the scented pine forests to the beauty of the Derwent Valley.
1 Hour Trek
Available throughout the day, most days. For people aged 12 or over. Suitable for all abilities.

This trek can be a gentle stroll across Nether Moor to the start of Jaggers Clough, or mainly a road hack which can incorporate trotting and a large canter track (suitable for the more advanced riders).

2 Hour Trek
Starts 10am or 2pm at weekends and 11am Mon - Fri.
For people aged 12 or over. Suitable for all abilities.

This trek is taken at a pace to suit all, and is a great way to view and enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside of Edale and the Hope Valley.

3 Hour Trek
Starts 10am or 1pm at weekends and 11am Mon - Fri.
For people aged 12 or over. Suitable for all abilities.

This trek is suitable for riders who require a little more from their trek. Whilst the terrain is steep and rocky in places, it still gives us plenty of opportunities to canter across the open moorlands of Win Hill and Mam Tor and see more of the beautiful area.

Full Day Trek
Starts around 10.00am and ends around 4:00pm (the start and end times vary according to the pace of the trek and the time of year). For people aged 12 or over. Suitable for all abilities - though for those who have not ridden before, it is a long time to spend in a saddle!

The trek could take you through the pine forests of the Derwent Valley to the Ladybower reservoirs, or could take you to the Peak Forest and Hayfield via the Pennine Bridleway - an excellent way to see the Peak District.
Lunch is not provided, so it is recommended that you bring a packed lunch with you.

Booking is essential for all of our treks.  The loan of a riding hat and jodhpur boots are included in the price.   Please Contact Us to book or for more details.
